Your gardens my removing dead leaves and debris from the beds, it is essential to avoid getting a fungus. Wrap fragile or vulnerable plants such as boxwoods or any plant that might be hit with salt or sand from road crews in the winter with burlap and put hay around your roses! I was just shooting in Los Angeles and one of the locations we shot at was fashion photographer Phillip Dixons house in Venice. Phillip has bought the property 1978 and over the years transformed it into an oasis that really reflects his aesthetic and lifestyle. It again shows me that when you have a strong visual point of view it translates into everything you create! It doesn’t matter if you are making a photograph or designing a house, a style that is your own shows through. Phillip has a strong sense of style that he has developed and honed over the years of having a creative life in pictures. His house reflects this. The use of nature as both inspiration as well as the main elemental theme of the interior creates a palette that is neutral and harmonious. The exposures and light design with skylights and angled walls keeps a glow throughout the day. It is an experience of space and light.
